Tim Breslin is Principal of Farmington High School, Farmington, Connecticut. Prior to his current position, Dr.Breslin had served as Principal of Litchfield High School and Principal of Newtown High School.

Dr. Breslin was named the 2009 Connecticut State Principal of the Year by Connecticut Association of Schools.  Dr. Breslin was chosen for this award from a pool of strong and gifted educators, thus giving testimony to his success as an instructional leader and building manager.  Dr. Breslin is most deserving of this prestigious award and has been an influential and respected leader in the high school community.

In the nomination letter, Dr. Eileen Howley wrote, “Dr. Breslin is one of the most superior educators that I have known.  His unique approach to the development of school culture and climate, with a deep commitment to the personalization of learning, is a hallmark of his principalship….Dr. Breslin embodies all of the qualities that we search for in our leadership positions.”

Superintendent Greider stated, “Dr. Breslin is an exemplary instructional leader who has worked in collaboration with his administrative team, faculty and staff to establish Farmington High School as a leading high school at the state and national levels.  Dr. Breslin’s strong commitment to the success of all students is unwavering.  We are very fortunate to have such a unique and talented educator as the lead learner of Farmington High School.  I know that Dr. Breslin will represent us with considerable distinction in the MetLife/NASSP National Principal of the Year Award process.”  

Dr. Breslin holds a Ph.D. degree from Duke University.
